Creamy Cajun Pasta with Succulent Shrimp and Spicy Sausage🌟😋
Ingredients :
12 oz (340g) pasta of your choice (penne or fettuccine work well)
2 tablespoons olive oil
8 oz (225g) spicy sausage, sliced (andouille or chorizo)
12 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
1 red pepper, sliced
1 green pepper, sliced
1 small onion, chopped
4 cloves garlic, chopped
1 cup heavy cream
1/2 cup chicken broth
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
Salt and pepper to taste
Chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
Method
1️⃣Cook the pasta:
Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
2️⃣Cook the sausage:
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced sausage and cook until brown and crispy, about 5 minutes. Remove the sausage from the skillet and set aside.
3️⃣Cook the shrimp:
In the same pan, add the shrimp and Cajun seasoning. Cook for 2-3 minutes on each side until the shrimp are pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the pan and set aside with the sausage.
4️⃣Sauté the vegetables:
Add sliced peppers, chopped onion, and minced garlic to the pan. Sauté until vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
5️⃣Make the cream sauce:
Pour in the heavy cream and chicken broth, stirring to combine. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer, then stir in the grated Parmesan cheese. Cook until the sauce thickens, about 3-4 minutes. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
6️⃣Combine and serve:
Add the cooked pasta, sausage, and shrimp to the pan, tossing everything together to coat evenly with the creamy sauce. Serve immediately, garnished with freshly chopped parsley.
