American Style Goulash

In a large pot, brown the ground beef and pork sausage over medium heat. Drain any excess fat.
Add the diced onion, bell pepper, and jalapeno. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes.
Stir in thyme, basil, salt, and pepper.
Mix in the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, and garlic.
Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
Add elbow macaroni and soy sauce. Cook until the macaroni is tender, about 10-12 minutes.
Stir in ketchup and simmer for 5 more minutes. Adjust seasoning if necessary and serve hot.
