Instructions:
Prepare the Rice Krispie Layer (5 minutes):
- In a large pot, melt the unsalted butter over low heat.
- Add the marshmallows and stir continuously until melted and smooth.
- Remove the pot from the heat and stir in the Rice Krispies cereal until well coated.
- Press the Rice Krispie mixture evenly into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish using a spatula or wax paper.
- Allow the Rice Krispie layer to cool and harden completely at room temperature.
Make the Banana Pudding Layer (3 minutes):
- In a bowl, whisk together the instant banana pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes, or until thickened.
- Gently fold the sliced bananas into the pudding mixture.
Assembly (2 hours to set):
- Once the Rice Krispie layer has cooled and hardened, evenly spread the banana pudding mixture over the top.
- Cover the baking dish with a lid or plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, ideally 2 hours, until the pudding layer sets.
Serve:
- Cut the Banana Pudding Rice Krispie Treats into squares before serving.
- Optionally, top each square with a dollop of whipped cream.
