Cherry Vanilla Butter Buttons
Preheat oven to 350. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add vanilla, then add 1 egg at a time, mixing after each. Add salt, then add flour 1 cup at a time, mixing after each addition, until all flour is combined. Roll 3/4 inch balls and place onto ungreased cookie sheet. Indent tops with finger and place halved cherry on top. Bake for 10 minutes. Allow to cool on pan for 5 min before removing. Makes 9 dozen.
