Ingredients

• 1 cup water
• 1 cup  sugar
• 375g mixed dried  fruit
• 200g butter
• 1 tsp mixed spice
• 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda
• 2 eggs beaten
• 2 cups self-raising flour
